Inter-library system

  • A.If you want to photocopy the full text of an academic paper obtained via the inter-library loan system, you will need to obtain permission from the author and send the letter of permission to the library together with the photocopy request form. There is no fixed format for the letter of permission.
  • A.The photocopy fee for requests made through the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) system is 50 yen per page for black-and-white copies, and 100 yen per page for color copies. If you are not a member of a library that belongs to the NACSIS-ILL cost-offsetting program, you will need to pay the photocopy fee using the postal transfer form enclosed with the material.

Other matters

  • A.Thank you for considering a donation of materials to St. Luke's International University Library.

    We manage the collection, acceptance, and preservation of materials in accordance with our Library Collection and Management Policy. We would appreciate your understanding in relation to the following.

    1.It is at the discretion of the library to decide whether or not to accept the proposed donation for our collection.
    2.Decisions taken in respect of donations are not communicated directly to donors.
    3.Rejected materials will not be returned.
    4.As a rule, materials that are rejected to be part of the collection are disposed. In some cases, materials may be donated to a used book fund or utilized in specific university projects.
    5.We do not compile lists of donated materials.
    6.Thank-you letters are not sent out to acknowledge donations.

    If you agree to 1 through 6 above, please forward the materials for donation to the following address. Students and faculty members of the university may bring their books to the library in person.

    Costs associated with sending donated materials should be borne by the donor.
    If you wish to donate more than 10 books, please contact us in advance by e-mail.

  • A.The stained glass windows on the landing of the library stairs were donated by the late Dr. Masa Higaki, a former dean of the undergraduate school and a long-time library director. They were created by Yukie Suzuki, a graduate of the university, and Michiko Toda.
