Frequently Asked Questions

  • A. The Academic Writing Desk (AWD) is an appointment-only online service that provides personalized support and assistance to undergraduate and graduate students on English and Japanese writing skills.
    The AWD service does not extend to revising documents, issuing certificates for English review or providing research guidance. This service aims to help students enhance their writing skills.

  • A. Bookings are made using the dedicated Google Form.
    The form will show available time slots. Select your preferred date and time, fill in the required details and attach the document to be discussed, then submit the form. If you do not hear from us after three working days, please contact the Support Office for Learning Community (solc@slcn.ac.jp) as the form may not have been received correctly.
  • A. The yearly schedule of AWD is available on the website. Please note the yearly schedule is subject to change.

     
  • A. The Support Office for Learning Community sends out twice weekly email updates on the booking schedule. In addition, the schedule for the following month is updated on the form at the beginning of the third week of each month, so please check the form as well.

  • A. Please notify the Support Office for Learning Community (solc@slcn.ac.jp) via e-mail if you need to cancel a booking. The number of AWD slots is limited. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel a booking.
